Quality Britchen

Stability for Steep Descents

Britchen is an essential part of the rig when riding down steep hills or through deep country. It helps keep the saddle from sliding forward over the horse's shoulders. We build our britchen to fit well and withstand hard work.

We use the same high-quality, durable American-tanned leather found in our custom saddles. The leather is strong and resists stretching or wear over time. Because the color is set during the tanning process, it will not rub off on your animal. This ensures the britchen lasts for years of use.

Our britchen is built for durability. Every piece is stitched and has heavy copper rivets for strength. We line the britchen and roll the edges. This is done for the animal's comfort. All the leather straps are beveled and finished.

You can choose between 43 inch straps or 1-inch straps. There is a lot of adjustment for small or large animals. For the best fit, we appreciate getting exact measurements.

A special feature includes a snap that makes repairs easy. If a snap breaks, you can replace it yourself without needing a shop to stitch it. You can also order wool lining on the spider part for an extra cost. Please call to place your order.
