Saddles Built for the Mule's Shape and Comfort

Mules have unique backs that are different from horses. Building a proper saddle for a mule takes specialized knowledge. We design our mule saddles to fit their specific shape. This ensures comfort for the animal and better performance on the trail.


The foundation is a strong wood tree covered in bullhide. We build our mule saddles with custom mule bars. These bars are set at the proper angle, rock, and twist to follow the mule’s back. This correct fit is important for the animal's comfort, especially when packing heavy loads or climbing steep ground.



We also focus on the rider's comfort. When you order, we ask about your riding style, height, and weight. This helps us decide the right cantle size and fender length for you. The stirrup leathers are "freed-up" for full movement. This keeps the rider stable and comfortable.

American Made Quality

The saddle is built with high-quality American-tanned leather. The color is set during the tanning process, so it will not rub off on your clothing. We use strong hardware like brass or stainless steel. The ground seat is hand-carved to fit the rider’s body. The saddle skirts are fitted to the tree, not just nailed flat. This provides a better fit for the mule.


We build each saddle one at a time with screws and nails, never staples. We use thick wool shearling, not synthetic material, for the skirts. Your finished custom mule saddle will be properly oiled and ready to ride when you receive it.
